We're Holly and Mark, we opened Day Zero in 2018, amongst the first wave of refill shops in the UK.
We see strong community ties as the supportive container for our modern lifestyle and wanted to bring something into being that provides a service to local people who have a deep desire to shop ethically but have limited opportunity.
We opened in Buxton as a refill shop and while we still do refill goods, we have oh so much more these days. We've changed in response to customer feedback and the needs of the business. We now run a full online shop alongside the physical premises. In the Summer of 2021 we begun a whole new way of serving a missing community need when we launched organic locally sourced fruit and veg.
We now partner with a local cargo e-bike delivery business called eLOV, delivering organic veg boxes and storecupboard essentials to Buxton residents and businesses.

We recognise that it's really hard to pick apart all the complexities of ethical shopping. Reducing packaging, workers rights, environmental concerns, pesticides, air miles, these are all things that we as shoppers are expected to understand. The good news is that when you shop at Day Zero, we've done all the hard work for you. We only sell products that meet our ethical criteria.
